Lindsey Wilson offers a rolling admissions which means a person can apply throughout the year. However, we encourage students to apply as early as possible to maximize scholarship opportunities and to guarantee the best academic schedule possible.
We must have a high school transcript sent to us directly from your high school. It is also helpful to have ACT/SAT scores sent to our office as well. Once we have those items, we will determine if an acceptance will be issued. Our office will request this information, but to expediate the process, it is helpful when the student takes the initiative to have the needed items in advance.
Although Lindsey Wilson University does not require an essay, resume or letters of recommendation for general admission, you may send any additional information you would like us to know about you to the Admissions Office. Resumes or letters or recommendation may help determine scholarship qualifications, college readiness and in aiding your admissions counselor in getting to know you better as a student and person.
Once all documentation has been received, we will act on a decision within 7 days.
Lindsey Wilson University does not have an application fee. Applying for admission does not obligate you to attend. However, we cannot offer you a financial aid package featuring any scholarship money until you have applied to Lindsey Wilson and have been accepted.
Lindsey Wilson University begins awarding achievement scholarships at a 3.0 GPA and an 18 ACT. We have found that GPA is a greater indicator of a student’s capability to succeed in college than the ACT score alone. Obviously, students who exhibit both strong ACT/SAT scores and GPA will qualify for an increase in money as the scores increase. For more information on all of our scholarships, see Making LWU Affordable.
We do not have a separate scholarship application. We work very diligently to get to know our students. Our application provides enough information to determine the scholarships to award.
Yes, our Begley Scholarship has a deadline of February 1. This scholarship is unique to Lindsey Wilson University. Students who have a 24 on the ACT or above and a 3.0 GPA or above are invited to participate. The candidates vie for full-tuition, room and board for all four years. The scholarship includes trips to Hemingway’s four great cities: Chicago, SanFrancisco, New Orleans and New York. Every trip is completely covered. The Scholars are also exposed to different cultural venues and numerous guest speakers. For more information on the Begley Scholarship, see Academic Scholarships.
